Introduction:
Hololive’s devilish songstress Tokoyami Towa (常闇トワ) has officially unleashed her latest single, “Rewrite the Answer,” on October 9, 2026. Serving as the second cour opening theme for the TV anime The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System (追放された転生重騎士はゲーム知識で無双する), this track marks Towa’s second anime theme song following “Shirube” earlier this year.
Produced by Takuya Yamanaka of THE ORAL CIGARETTES—with composition and arrangement handled alongside Yuki Tsujimura—Rewrite the Answer is a high-octane rock anthem that weaponizes Towa’s signature husky low register into something genuinely formidable.
The Song That Rewrites the Rules:
Rewrite the Answer is not a gentle pop tune. From the opening bars, it establishes itself as a driving, guitar-forward rock track designed to match the intensity of The Exiled Heavy Knight‘s combat sequences. The anime follows Elma, a protagonist who refuses to accept his “worthless” class and instead uses game knowledge to dominate a world that dismissed him. Towa’s song channels that same defiant energy.
The digital single, released under hololive RECORDS, contains two tracks: the main song and its instrumental, with a total runtime of 6 minutes and 36 seconds. A CD release has not yet been announced, but given the pattern of Towa’s previous single “Shirube” (which received a physical edition months after digital release), fans can likely expect a physical drop in early 2027.
Why “Rewrite the Answer” Matters:
In a VTuber music landscape often dominated by character songs and cover albums, Tokoyami Towa continues to prove that hololive talents can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with mainstream anisong artists. Rewrite the Answer is not a novelty release—it is a genuine rock anthem with production pedigree, thematic weight, and a vocal performance that demands respect.
For anime fans watching The Exiled Heavy Knight, the song is now inseparable from the show’s identity. For Towa’s fans (“Kin of Tokoyami”), it is the latest milestone in her evolution from gaming VTuber to bona fide music artist.
Conclusion:
Rewrite the Answer is more than an anime tie-in. It is a statement of intent—from an artist who has weathered her own storms and emerged with her voice stronger than ever. Towa’s low, commanding delivery cuts through Yamanaka’s aggressive rock arrangement like a blade, and the result is one of the strongest anisong releases of Fall 2026.
