Introduction:

INI has officially released the digital single "SWING" on October 12, 2026, as part of their "WORKSPACE" unit song project. Performed by the trio of RIHITO (池﨑理人) , SHOGO (田島将吾) , and HIROTO (西洸人) , the track is the hardest-hitting of the four unit songs that debuted during INI's 5th Anniversary Dome Tour [CITY OF LIGHTS] at Tokyo Dome in September 2026. While Spin It seduced and 君がくれたもの brought tears, SWING came to dominate. It is a dark, heavy rap track that weaponizes the trio's long-standing chemistry—honed since their PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON 2 days as the legendary unit "Dos Koi Club" (ドス鯉倶楽部) —into something genuinely formidable.

Meet the Members: RIHITO, SHOGO, and HIROTO:

RIHITO (池﨑理人 / Ikezaki Rihito) Born August 30, 2001, in Fukuoka Prefecture, RIHITO ranked 3rd place in PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON 2. He is known for his sharp, agile rap delivery and expressive performance style. In SWING, his verses add a kinetic energy that cuts through the track's heavy atmosphere. He has also contributed lyrics to INI tracks, including "All 4 U," demonstrating his growth as a writer. SHOGO (田島将吾 / Tajima Shogo) Born October 13, 1998, in Tokyo, SHOGO ranked 4th place in the audition program. He is the oldest member of INI and one of its most technically gifted rappers. In SWING, his delivery is measured, deliberate, and deeply impactful—a grounding force that anchors the track's darker moments. SHOGO has participated in lyric writing for multiple INI songs, including the 8th single track "PULSE." HIROTO (西洸人 / Nishi Hiroto) Born August 10, 1997, in Osaka Prefecture, HIROTO ranked 6th place in PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON 2. A former dancer, he transitioned into a rap position during the audition program—a decision he has spoken about with honesty, noting the challenges he faced in learning to write and deliver rap lyrics. His voice in SWING carries a distinct texture that contrasts beautifully with RIHITO's agility and SHOGO's weight. His journey from dancer to formidable MC is one of INI's most compelling stories of growth.

Why "SWING" Matters for INI:

INI is in the midst of a record-breaking year. Their 9th single ANTHEM, released in September 2026, sold 823,000 copies in its first week. They are in the middle of their 5th Anniversary Dome Tour, with Osaka shows scheduled for November. In this context, SWING is not just a unit song. It is proof of INI's versatility. The group's main singles are built for broad appeal—bright, polished, and designed for mass consumption. But SWING shows that INI contains artists with distinct voices and creative visions. The fact that RIHITO, SHOGO, and HIROTO can deliver a dark, heavy rap track that stands on its own—without needing the group's full formation—speaks to the depth of talent within the lineup.

Conclusion:

SWING is a declaration of dominance. It takes the "Dos Koi" legacy—built on audition-stage battles and years of quiet chemistry—and channels it into a track that hits with the force of a batter swinging for the fences. RIHITO's agility, SHOGO's weight, and HIROTO's texture combine into something greater than the sum of its parts. On a night when INI celebrated five years of growth, SWING reminded everyone that the trio that started it all is still one of the group's most potent weapons.
