Introduction:
hololive -Promise- has released its latest original song, “La Mascarade,” on October 19, 2026. Featuring the vocals of IRyS, Ouro Kronii, and Hakos Baelz, the track invites listeners into a mysterious world of masks, elegant dancing, hidden identities, and playful deception.
With its theatrical concept and multilingual flair, “La Mascarade” offers a distinctive addition to hololive English’s original music catalog. The title evokes a masked ball where appearances can be misleading and every guest seems to be playing a role. Rather than revealing everything immediately, the song builds its atmosphere around curiosity, uncertainty, and the excitement of entering a world where nobody is quite what they appear to be.
The official music video premiered on October 18, one day before the song’s digital release. With a creative team led by lyricists Steph and OrcaNyan and composers and arrangers OrcaNyan and CS4W, “La Mascarade” brings together vocal performance, theatrical storytelling, and a memorable masquerade-inspired identity.
hololive -Promise- and Its Place in hololive English:
hololive -Promise- is a unit within hololive English, the English-language branch of the hololive virtual talent project operated by COVER Corporation.
The unit began operating under the Promise name in October 2023. Its original lineup consisted of IRyS, Ceres Fauna, Ouro Kronii, Nanashi Mumei, and Hakos Baelz. Since then, the group's history has changed, and Ceres Fauna and Nanashi Mumei are listed as graduated talents on the official hololive talent page.
For “La Mascarade,” the confirmed vocal lineup is IRyS, Ouro Kronii, and Hakos Baelz. Their collaboration continues the unit's musical identity through an original track that brings together the performers' individual personas in a shared concept.
Original songs are an important way for virtual talent groups to develop a musical identity beyond livestreams. They can combine performance, character design, animation, and storytelling into a single release, creating a work that fans can revisit in both audio and video form.
Why “La Mascarade” Is Worth Listening To:
There are several reasons “La Mascarade” stands out as a new hololive -Promise- original song.
First, it has a clear and memorable concept. The masquerade theme provides an immediate sense of mystery, elegance, and playful deception. The French title reinforces the atmosphere and distinguishes the track from a more conventional pop release.
Second, it brings together three hololive English talents. IRyS, Ouro Kronii, and Hakos Baelz share the vocal performance, giving the song a collaborative identity that fits its ballroom setting.
Third, the music and visuals support the same idea. With dedicated illustration, character animation, and music-video production credits, the release has a visual framework that complements its theatrical premise.
Finally, it offers more than one way to engage with the song. Listeners can focus on the music and vocal performance, while viewers can explore the characters and visual storytelling through the official music video.
